Over 165 years ago, a tantalizing aroma arose from the ovens of Puddin Hill...
the aroma of a holiday cake that was the favorite for miles around. That Pecan cake
recipe was elegantly simple: lots of Texas native pecans, sweet cherries, dates and
pineapple, mixed in just enough light batter to hold it all deliciously together.
We still hand-make this same recipe today. That’s why our cakes are an eagerlyawaited
holiday tradition for families across the country. They say you just can’t beat
the fl avor of our Pecan Cake: without all the “extra” ingredients like spices, raisins,
candied peels and citron that many folks don’t like, and plenty of the things they
love (nearly 1/3 of each cake is pecans). Easy to slice and serve, with a handy
storage bag and serving suggestions.
